GRANADA – Keira Benck put on another impressive performance during Thursday night’s Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther girls basketball win over Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons. Benck’s 25 points powered the Jaguars to a 67-60 victory at the Granada Huntley East Chain High School.
Benck tacked on 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals to go along with her impressive night. Londyn Bowers notched 18 points with 11 rebounds and four assists. Ava Donohue drained six free throws to power a 12 point effort.
GHEC/T/ML (9-6) will play the Knights again tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
BOYS BASKETBALL
AC/GE 65, MCW 52
TRIMONT – Martin County West’s Chase Owens rained in 22 points and 12 rebounds during Thursday night’s 65-52 defeat to Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons in Trimont. The Knights were led by Darin Linn, who led the team with 30 points.
MCW (1-16) hosts United South Central next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Cleveland 65, GHEC/T/ML 61
CLEVELAND – Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther’s Eli Jensen knocked down six outside shots during Thursday night’s 65-61 defeat to Cleveland. Jensen finished the night leading all scorers with 28 points.
Brody Grathwohl converted on four of nine shots to power an 11 point effort. Alex Benck connected on three 3-pointers to fuel a 11 point night. Griffin Studer notched eight points and nine rebounds.
GHEC/T/ML (4-12) will play St. Clair on Friday at 7 p.m.
BOYS HOCKEY
Minnesota River 4, Fairmont 1
LE SUEUR – The Fairmont boys hockey team fell to Minnesota River 4-1 on Thursday night at Le Sueur Arena.
The Cardinals’ lone score came in the first period from Klay Beemer. Gavin Kester recorded the assist.
Fairmont (6-11) will play Windom Area next Monday at 7 p.m.
