Area roundup: Cardinals contain Titans
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Fairmont 70, TCU 53
FAIRMONT – Brylee Miller’s 35 point performance charged the Fairmont girls basketball team past Tri-City United on Monday, 70-53. The Cardinals finished the night connecting on seven outside shots while gathering assists on over 60% of their made field goals.
Miller’s scoring output was aided by six rebounds, four steals and four assists. She shot 54% from the field. Emelia Klanderud had a nice night scoring to complement Miller, making over half her shots to lead to a 14 point performance. Three of those makes came from beyond the arc.
Bria Williamson added to the tally with 10 points of her own while also connecting on three 3-pointers.
Fairmont (16-1) will take on Windom Area tomorrow at 6 p.m.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Madelia 68, GHEC/T/ML 58
NORTHROP – Eli Jensen’s 21 point outburst proved to be not enough for the Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther boys basketball team on Monday night, falling to Madelia 68-58 at Martin Luther High School.
Jensen connected on five 3-pointers to fuel his scoring night. Brody Grathwohl and Griffin Studer each had 10 points to aid Jensen’s efforts, combining for nine made field goals and seven assists.
GHEC/T/ML (4-11) will play at Cleveland this Thursday beginning at 7 p.m.
