GYMNASTICS

MCA 135.95, Waseca 129.8

FAIRMONT – The Martin County Area Magic used strong performances on vault, bars and beam to push past Waseca 135.95-129.8 on Tuesday night at the Fairmont Armory.

Lillie Schultz took home first place in All-Around with a score of 36.475. Jadyn Montgomery was the other top-five finisher for the Magic, scoring a 33.875 to place third.

Schultz (9.3), Montgomery (8.8), Lauren Elliot (8.675) and Ellie Perkins (8.575) led the way in vault, earning first, second, fourth and fifth place finishes. The Magic again represented well in the bars with four more individuals placing in the top five. Schultz (8.925), Montgomery (8.2), Perkins (7.75) and Avery Steuber (7.5) again got first, second, fourth and fifth for MCA. Schultz (8.8) and Adriana (8.525) Leiding led the Magic in beam with two scores over 8.5 to finish first and third. Schultz (9.45) and Montgomery (9.075) earned first and fourth on the floor with two scores above nine.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

GHEC/T/ML 53, USC 31

WELLS – The Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther girls basketball team took down United South Central 53-31 on Tuesday night.

Londyn Bowers had 15 points to go along with 10 rebounds and four steals. Keira Benck followed her 14 points with seven steals and four assists.

GHEC/T/ML (8-4) will take on Nicollet this Thursday, starting at 5:45 p.m.

MCW 43, ACGE 34

ALDEN – The Martin County West girls basketball team defeated Alden-Congor/Glenville-Emmons 43-34 on Tuesday night.

Maddie Carlson led all scorers with 20 points. Courtney Anderson had 10 points on four made free throws. Ivy Olson chipped in six points.

MCW (9-7) will take on Loyola Catholic this Thursday, starting at 7 p.m.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Luverne 8, Fairmont 0

LUVERNE – The Fairmont girls hockey team dropped to Luverne 8-0 on Tuesday night at Blue Mound Ice Arena. The Cardinals were outshot 39-8 on the night. Luverne scored four goals in both the second and third periods to propel the victory.

Fairmont (8-9-2) will play Mankato West this Friday, starting at 7 p.m.

BOYS HOCKEY

Luverne 14, Fairmont 0

FAIRMONT – The Fairmont boys hockey team fell to Luverne 14-0 on Tuesday night at Martin County Arena. The Cardinals were outshot 64-11 on the night. Luverne scored 13 of its goals in the first two periods.

Fairmont (5-8) will play New Ulm this Thursday at Martin County Area beginning at 7 p.m.
