Area Roundup: Fairmont boys extend winning streak

BOYS BASKETBALL
FAIRMONT – The Fairmont boys basketball team defeated Windom Area, 51-42, on Tuesday night to extend its winning streak to four.
Ryan Junkermeier powered the Cardinals with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Joseph Hackett rattled down a pair of 3-pointers to notch 11 points. Reed Johnson 12 rebounds and 10 points fueled Fairmont head coach Jared Thompson’s interior scoring.
The Cardinals (4-1) will travel to Tri-City United on Thursday.
GRANADA – The Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther boys basketball team got back to its winning ways after Tuesday night’s 58-49 victory over Cleveland.
Eli Jensen had 22 points to go along with three steals. Reagan Emmert chipped in 12 points after knocking down a pair of 3-pointers. Ethan Jaskulke grabbed 12 rebounds while notching seven points.
The Jaguars (2-4) will host Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons this Thursday starting at 7 p.m.
ALDEN – The Martin County West boys basketball team earned its first victory of the season on Tuesday night with a 52-43 win over Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons.
Caiden Loken had 15 points. Chase Owens had 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Brycen Kettner had six points and seven rebounds.
The Mavericks (1-5) will travel to New Richland-H-E-G next Monday with the contest starting at 7 p.m.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
GRANADA – The Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther girls basketball team defeated Cleveland on Tuesday night, 76-63.
Keira Benck and Londyn Bowers had 34 and 26 points, respectively, combining for 13 steals and nine rebounds.
The Jaguars (4-3) will host Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons this Thursday starting at 5:45 p.m.
