Four Cardinals lead 2025 All-Sentinel Football Team

Joe Long, Sr., Quarterback, Fairmont

Senior quarterback Joe Long was the catalyst for Fairmont High School football head coach Mat Mahoney’s offense in 2025. The talented play-caller improved from last year’s junior campaign, tossing for 1,181 yards and 20 touchdowns, aiding the Cardinals to a 28-point per game clip over nine games. As a senior leader for the team, Long consistently displayed a calming presence on the field at all times.

Tyler Bicknase, Sr., Offensive Guard, Defensive End, Linebacker, Fairmont

Tyler Bicknase was one of the more impactful players for Mahoney this past 2025 season. Being a steady presence on both sides of the ball, Bicknase brought a sense of senior leadership to the team’s underclassmen, both on and off the field. Outside of his consistent ability to block defensive linemen and take care of any rushing linebackers, it was the versatility Bicknase brought to the other side of the ball that stands out the most. The senior ended the year picking up 43 tackles, five of them being for a loss, to go along with 3.5 sacks. His ability to play multiple positions on the field was key for the Cardinals.

Owen Terfehr, Jr., Wide Receiver/Safety, Fairmont

Another versatile player for Mahoney and the Cardinals this season, Terfehr brought a mix of explosive plays on both sides of the ball with his great ball skills and tackling ability. On defense, Terfehr brought consistency to Fairmont’s secondary, tallying 67 tackles, three sacks, one interception and a fumble recovery. Seven of these tackles were for a loss. The junior was also an easy outlet for quarterback Joe Long anytime they needed a big play, finishing the season with 286 yards and three scores.

DJ Miller, Sr., Offensive Tackle. Defensive Tackle, Fairmont

Another anchor on Mahoney’s offensive and defensive line this season was DJ Miller, a senior who played both lines of scrimmage with an edge throughout 2025. Miller picked up 31 tackles and 2.5 sacks before the season’s end. Miller’s production on the left side of the line aided running backs Dakota Wiley and Ty Tumbleson constantly.

Draven Keeler, Sr., Running Back, North Union

Heading into the 2025 season, North Union High School football coach Matt Ernster knew the returning presence of running back Draven Keeler gave his Warriors an immediate chance to succeed. The senior delivered in every aspect of preseason hype with his physical running, carrying the ball 15, 20, or 25 times a game without wearing out. Keeler finished eighth amongst all Class 8-Player rushers in total yards with 1231 on the season, averaging nearly 7 yards per carry and 136 yards per game. His 19 touchdowns were good for 14th in the class. On defense, Keeler racked up three sacks on the season, showing versatility for Ernster and the Warriors.

Greyson Colegrove, Jr., Quarterback, North Union

Quarterback Greyson Colegrove had some high praise entering the season from Ernster, who hoped to see a big jump in production after gaining some experience the year prior as a sophomore. Colegrove delivered in multiple ways, showing Warrior fans his dynamic dual-threat ability under center. He finished the season passing for 770 yards and 11 touchdowns, using his legs for 468 yards and 12 touchdowns, and gave the entire North Union football program hope for an even bigger output next season as a senior.

Carson Crouch, So., Utility, North Union

Carson Crouch did a little bit of everything for Ernster and the 2025 North Union football team. He tallied 355 yards of total offense with three scores, using his rushing and pass-catching abilities to become a threat anywhere on the field. On defense, he gathered 31.5 tackles, 4.5 being for a loss, and one interception. Crouch even had a huge impact on special teams, posing a threat to score anytime it was kicked his way. He finished his sophomore campaign with 578 return yards and two touchdowns.

Griffin Studer, Sr., Wide Receiver, GHEC/T

Wide receiver Griffin Studer gave the octane Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman offense an impressive deep threat anytime he lined up on the outside, giving quarterback Reagan Emmert a consistent target with his speed and agility in the open field. Studer broke single-season records in receiving yards and touchdowns with 662 and nine, respectively. His 42 career receptions were a Jaguar program record. On the opposite side of the ball, Studer was no slouch, racking up 52 total tackles and one interception.

Reagan Emmert, Sr., Quarterback/Linebacker, GHEC/T

No one was more impactful for the Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman football team than Reagan Emmert, a do-it-all athlete who carried success on both sides of the ball throughout the season. Starting with his time under center, Emmert lit up opposing 9-man defenses with his ability to push the ball downfield. He ended the 2025 season with 1462 yards through the air to go along with 16 TDs, keeping the Jaguars in any game with the threat of the explosive play always in the back pocket. The output of play on the defensive end didn’t slow down either. Emmert led the team in tackles with 55, picking up two interceptions, one fumble recovery, and two defensive scores.

Pierce Rohman, Jr., Utility, Martin County West

Pierce Rohman was a Swiss Army Knife for head coach Tom Elliot and his Martin County West High School football team, posing as a threat anywhere on the gridiron with his speed and pass-catching ability. Rohman ended the season with 526 rushing yards, 287 receiving yards, and three total touchdowns, giving Elliot the ability to move him all around the field whenever he saw fit. The junior also picked up 61 tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

Maddex Faber, Jr., Quarterback/Linebacker, Martin County West

Maddex Faber was the ultimate leader for this season’s Martin County West football team, making play calls on both sides of the ball in his respective quarterback and middle linebacker positions. On offense, Faber showed a dangerous dual-threat ability throughout the year, using his legs to create bigger plays downfield. He finished the season with 751 yards and five touchdowns through the air, tacking on an additional 406 yards and four scores on the ground, and gave Elliot a constant, steady production under center. Faber racked up 121 tackles while manning the middle of the field, 12 of those being behind the line of scrimmage.
