2025 All-Sentinel Volleyball Team announced

Madelyn Carlson

Jr., Outside Hitter

Martin County West

Fans of the Mavericks volleyball program have been aware of Carlson’s presence on the court through her many seasons representing the blue and black. In 2025, however, Carlson was once again a staple in head coach Kayla Zehms’ starting rotation, providing a steady output at the outside of the net with her offensive and defensive skills. Carlson finished the season with a team-high 272 kills for the Mavericks, accurately placing the ball anywhere on the court with her powerful striking ability. Her 270 digs, the second most on the team, proved to many that Carlson wasn’t just a heavy hitter at the net, but rather, a balanced competitor for Zehms and company.

Brylee Miller

Sr., Outside Hitter

Fairmont

When looking at some of the more impactful players on Stacy Garbers’ Fairmont High School volleyball team this season, it’s hard not to recognize Miller’s ability to change a game with her play at outside hitter. Her calming presence as a captain helped the Cardinals secure three more wins from last season. The senior improved in many statistical categories from her junior campaign, putting up 271 kills and 261 digs, good for first and second on the team, respectively. As one of the senior leaders on this season’s Cardinal roster, Miller’s presence on and off the court will be missed going forward.

Brylie Deim

Sr., Outside Hitter

North Union

One of the best skill traits athletes can possess in any sport is availability. Are you able to play and perform at multiple positions to better help your team earn a victory? For North Union High School volleyball coach Nicole Hoye, Deim proved to be versatile, with her ability to play anywhere on the hardwood helping the team in multiple ways. An outside hitter who played all the way around, Deim did a little bit of everything for this year’s Warrior roster. The senior tallied 251 kills alongside 185 digs, racking up 40 service points to emphasize her willingness to do anything on the court.

Emily Schettler

Sr., Setter

Martin County West

One of the many reasons Martin County West could generate a high level of offense came down to Schettler’s presence as the team’s setter. From digging to gently tapping the ball in the hands of outside hitters Carlson and Jaylee Hanson, Schettler was always aware of where to go when the play came her way. 634 times this season, Schettler set up her teammates with a well-placed assist. Her 196 digs were good for fourth on the team, showing everyone her ability to pass the ball in multiple facets while remaining a calming senior presence on the court.

Jadyn Montgomery

Jr., Middle Hitter

Fairmont

Montgomery proved to be another key piece for the Cardinal offense this past fall, pairing alongside Miller in front of the net to create a powerful spiking tandem that most teams feared. Despite missing seven games this season with an ankle injury, Montgomery still filled up the stat sheet in her end-of-season results. Her ability to generate offense through her crafty work around the net was simply impressive, hitting the ball at multiple angles to generate 165 kills. But what stood out the most for opposing teams was her defensive prowess. Montgomery collected 54 blocks this season, using her wingspan and vertical talents to the fullest while making life difficult for anyone she faced. Garbers knows that Montgomery’s presence next year as a senior will be key to her team’s success.

Keira Benck

Sr., Setter,

GHEC/T/ML

With outside hitter Londyn Bowers having the spiking capabilities of generating any offense she is placed in, Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther volleyball head coach TJ Williams looked to Benck to set up any and all attacks on this side of the net. The senior was a key factor this 2025 season with her strong ability to find open teammates. Benck tallied 616 set assists on the season, along with 274 digs, showing her versatility as a setter in general. She ended her career with 1,000 career set assists, finishing her varsity career as one of the more impactful passers in recent program history.
