RUTHVEN – The North Union High School (5-3) football team defeated Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (8-1) 56-48 last Friday night during the opening round of the 8-Player, Pod A Football Playoffs.

The Warriors fended off the Titans’ 20-point fourth-quarter swing, advancing to the second round of the state playoffs to take on undefeated Bishop Garrigan this Friday night, starting at 7 p.m.

Leading the way for North Union was running back Draven Keeler, who churned out 272 yards and four touchdowns on 37 rushing attempts. Quarterback Greyson Colegrove tallied 48 yards through the air with 98 yards on the ground, combining for four total touchdowns. Wide receiver Cooper Hoye grabbed the Warriors’ lone touchdown catch.
