Area football playoff roundup: Jaguars fall in quarterfinals
AC/GE 58, GHEC/T 38
ALDEN – The No. 5 Granada Huntley East Chain/Truman football team fell to No. 4 Alden-Congor/Glenville-Emmons, 58-38, on Tuesday night during the opening quarterfinals round of the 2025 Section 3, 9-Player Football Tournament.
Jaguar quarterback Reagan Emmert led the way for his offense with 303 yards through the air and four passing touchdowns. Wide receiver Griffin Studer raked in four catches for 176 yards and three touchdowns. Lane Kruse also found the endzone for GHEC/T, scoring on a 71-yard touchdown reception, his lone catch of the night. Running back Brody Grathwohl strung together 28 yards on the ground.
AC/GE will play at No. 1 Hills-Beaver Creek this Saturday, with kickoff set to start at 3 p.m.
Lester Prairie 32, MCW 6
LESTER PRAIRIE – The No. 6-seeded Martin County West football team was eliminated from the 2025 Section 2A Football Tournament on Tuesday night, falling to No. 3 Lester Prairie 32-6 in the opening quarterfinals round.
Quarterback Maddex Faber finished the night completing 6 of 10 passes for 52 yards and one touchdown to Lixon Fosberg, who collected 36 yards of his own on three catches. Faber also led the team in rushing with 28 yards on seven attempts.
Lester Prairie is set to face No. 2 St. James this Saturday at 2 p.m.
