Weekend football roundup: Jaguars fall to Dragons

GRANADA – The Granda Huntley East Chain/Truman football team dropped to Adrian Ellsworth 53-14 last Friday night in Granada during the Jaguars’ homecoming week festivities.

Bowan Sill and Brody Grathwohl had 39 and 44 rushing yards, respectively for the Jaguars. Jaguars quarterback Reagan Emmert completed 10 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. Griffin Studer led all GHEC/T receivers in passing yards with 56 while hauling in a touchdown in the third quarter.

GHEC/T (2-4) will play Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda this Friday on the road, with kickoff set to start at 7 p.m.

SJA 40, MCW 8

ST. JAMES – The Martin County West High School football team fell to St. James Area 40-8 last Friday afternoon on the road.

Pierce Rohman led all MCW rushers with 87 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown. Kaedin Lange and Gavin Shoen had 28 and 25 yards on the ground as well. Maddex Faber led the Mavericks with 12 tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

MCW (1-5) will play this Thursday against United South Central in Trimont, with kickoff starting at 7 p.m.

Bishop Garrigan 54,

North Union 7

ARMSTRONG – North Union High School fell to Bishop Garrigan 54-7 last Friday evening in Armstrong, marking the third loss of the year for the Warriors.

North Union quarterback Greyson Colegrove completed eight passes for 84 yards, tacking on 26 yards rushing as well. Draven Keeler rushed for 25 yards on 13 carries. Khael Jones led all North Union receivers in both receptions and yards, catching four passes for 57 yards. Carson Crouch had the highlight of the night with a 72-yard kick return touchdown in the second quarter.

The Warriors (2-3) take on West Bend Mallard this Friday on the road. Kickoff is set to begin at 7 p.m.
