Area football roundup: Mavs run over Madelia
MCW 48, Madelia 6
TRIMONT – Martin County West High School football took down Madelia 48-6 in Trimont last Friday night.
Quarterback Maddex Faber had 30 yards through the air with 93 on his feet and one rushing touchdown. Running back Pierce Rohman ran for 200 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries. Preston Cerpress and Kaedin Lange both had rushing touchdowns of their own respectively. The Mavericks (1-2) rushed for 342 yards on the Madelia defense, averaging almost eight yards per touch.
MCW plays this Friday at Lester Prairie. Kickoff for this contest is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Wabasso 64, GHEC/T 12
WABASSO – GHEC/T fell to Wabasso 64-12 last Friday night at the Wabasso High School.
Jaguar quarterback Reagan Emmert finished the night with 192 passing yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Griffin Studer racked up 123 yards and two touchdowns on five receptions.
GHEC/T (1-2) continues the season this Friday when they travel to play Mountain Lake. Kickoff is set to begin at 7 p.m.
North Union 42, Riceville 46
ARMSTRONG – North Union High School football fell to Riceville 46-42 at North Union High School this past Friday night.
Warriors quarterback Greyson Colegrove finished the night with 139 yards and three touchdowns. He added one on the ground to go along with his 12 rushing yards respectively. North Union wide receivers Drew Henderson, Cooper Hoye, and Khael Jones all caught touchdown passes against the Wildcats.
North Union (2-1) will play again Friday, Sept 19 against GTRA at the Ruthven-Ayrshire Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set to begin at 7 p.m.
