I am thrilled to announce my new position as sports editor for the Fairmont Sentinel, aiming to shed light on individuals and teams that deserve their story to be told.

Graduating from the University of Iowa and writing for the Daily Iowan, I am used to covering every type of sport out there. From cross-country to football, I have seen a lot of action in a variety of athletics.

Using this, I plan on doing as much in-depth coverage that can positively highlight the players, teams, coaches and fans that make this sports community what it is. These groups of people are the heartbeat of the community. With the right amount of questions and research, I believe so many stories can be told that were otherwise being forgotten.

I am open to any questions, qualms or story ideas any of our readers have on their minds. Readers can contact me at my email, which I will post under every story byline. Open feedback and communication are essential for my position.

When I am not writing, I love to work out, bowl or watch a good movie. I grew up a die-hard Iowa athletics fan, but also have interests in the Boston Red Sox, Indianapolis Colts and the Marquette Golden Eagles.
