North Union wins in five innings

BANCROFT — The North Union Warriors took down nonconference opponent Manson-NW Webster 14-4 in five innings Thursday.

After two scoreless innings, North Union opened up a 5-1 lead in the third. They would not let off the gas pedal, as it would be 11-4 in the fourth and they would get their final three runs in the fifth.

Colin Kruse, Wiley Stevens, and Greyson Colegrove each had two RBIs. Kruse had three hits and one run, Stevens had one hit and one run, and Colegrove had a sacrifice fly.

It was a two-pitcher effort. Colin Kruse had three strikeouts and no earned runs allowed in three innings. In relief, Cooper Hoye had three strikeouts and no hits allowed in two innings.

The Warriors (4-2) have their next game Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Bishop Garrigan at the Bishop Garrigan High School Field.
