JACKSON COUNTY CENTRAL 13, FAIRMONT 1

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Cardinals lost to Jackson County Central 13-1 in a Big South Conference softball game Tuesday.

Abigail Sundeen went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Brylee Miller gave up five earned runs and had three strikeouts in seven innings of work.

The Cardinals (12-7) go up against Windom Friday in Windom at 5:30 p.m.

MARTIN COUNTY WEST 8, SLEEPY EYE 1

WELCOME — The Martin County West Mavericks won their game against Sleepy Eye 8-1 Tuesday.

Hannah Rosenberg went 3 for 4 with one RBI and two runs scored. Courtney Anderson hit a triple and had one RBI.

In seven innings of work, Maddie Carlson had nine strikeouts and gave up five hits.

The Mavericks (17-2) have their next game in Mankato Thursday, May 15 against New Ulm Cathedral.

MORTON — The Fairmont Cardinals placed 13th out of 14 teams in the Big South Conference Boys Golf Championship Tuesday.

Macklain Anderson led the Cardinals individually by finishing 23rd with an 88.

The Cardinals have their next matchup at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 22 at Oakdale Golf Club.

LIVERMORE — The North Union Warriors finished seventh in a nine-team Top of Iowa Conference golf meet Monday.

Standing out for North Union was Drew Henderson, finishing first individually with a 74.

The Warriors have their next meet Wednesday, May 14 in Fort Dodge at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in a seven-way 1A qualifier.

WORTHINGTON — The Fairmont Cardinals took first against six other teams in the Trojan Relays Tuesday in Worthington.

Mollie Leiding took third in the 100 and 200 with a 13.23 and 26.87, respectively.

Nathaliah Johnson finished fifth in the 100 meters with a 13.37.

Harper Artz took second in the 200 and 400 with a 26.44 and 59.98, respectively.

Ella Wubbena got third in the 800 with a 2:37.75

Cadence Leiding and Bella Schroeder finished third and fourth in the 100 with a 16.90 and 17.40, respectively.

Leiding took first in the 300-meter hurdles with a 49.94.

Johnson, Meredith Nemmers, Ava Rodning, and Kennedy Becker got third in the 4×100 relay with a 53.40.

Becker, Addison Toothaker, Emelia Klanderud, and Alexis Fuller took third in the 4×100 relay with a 1:52.52.

Toothaker, Madi Thompson, Macy Hanson, and Harper Artz finished first in the 4×400 relay with a 4:07.70.

Abbie Simpson, Makenzie Gerhardt, Grace Simpson, and Ella Wubbena nabbed third with a 11:08.65.

Ellie Ortega and Kennedy Becker finished first and fifth in the shot put with 37-foot, 1.5-inch and 33-foot, 1.5-inch throws respectively.

Ortega took second in the discus with a 104-foot, 8-inch throw.

Emelia Klanderud tied for third in the high jump with a 4-foot, 8-inch jump.

Ellie Perkins tied for first in the pole vault with a 11-foot vault.

Jadyn Montgomery and Abbie Simpson took second and fourth with 32-foot, 8.75-inch and 30-foot, 10-inch jumps respectively.

The Cardinals have their next meet Tuesday, May 20 at the Big South Championship, starting at 4 p.m. in St. Peter.

Jeremiah Labbi took second in the 100 and 200 with a 11.33 and 22.94, respectively.

Tavian Harvey nabbed fourth in the 200 with a 23.66

Nelson Remington set a personal record in the 200, 400, and discus wheelchair with a 30.24, 1:00.50, and 32-foot, 1-inch throw, respectively.

Caleb Chambers finished fourth in the 400 with a 54.01.

Carter Hanson took fourth in the 800 with a 2:05.98.

Devin Hanson nabbed fourth in the 3,200 with a 11:30.74.

Jaron Schultz finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a 43.75

Schultz, Travohn Harvey, Elijah Johnson, and Ethan Siebring got fourth in the 4×100 relay with a 46.49.

Chambers, Ethan Siebring, Seth Siebring, and Tavian Harvey took third in the 4×200 relay with a 1:35.36

Jordan Thompson, Carter Hanson, Cooper Gudahl, and Brier Lenort finished first in the 4×800 relay with a 8:27.09

Hank Artz and Oliver Tordsen took first and third in the shot put with 52-foot, 6.5-inch and 51-foot, 9.5-inch throws respectively.

Tordsen and Artz finished first and second in the discus with 171-foot, 4-inch and 145-foot, 3-inch throws respectively.

Jase Meade got second in the pole vault with a 12-foot, 6-inch jump.

The Cardinals have their next meet Tuesday, May 20 at the Big South Championship, starting at 4 p.m. in St. Peter.

MADELIA – The Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars were defeated by Valley Division rival Madelia in five innings Tuesday.

The Jaguars recorded no hits in the game.
