FAIRMONT – The Fairmont Cardinals got the upper hand against Mound Westonka Friday, winning 4-3
Fairmont split the singles matches, winning the first two before losing the last two. Anthony Stegge beat Will Salvati 6-2, 6-1 and Tyler Slama beat James Marth 6-0, 6-1.
It was in the doubles where Fairmont would pull away, winning the first two before losing the final match. Dominick Lund-May and Oliver Thedens beat Tor Erdahl and Ben Pruitt 6-0, 6-3 and Simone Castro and Lillian Ortega beat Charlie Weaver beat Seamus Olson 6-3, 6-2.
The Cardinals have their next match Monday at 4:15 p.m. vs Luverne at home.

PIPESTONE – The Fairmont Cardinals got two wins on the road Friday, as they beat Pipestone 15-2 and 9-6 in a Big South Conference baseball doubleheader.
In the first game, Joseph Crissinger went 3 for 3 with four RBI and a run. Mason Bicknase went 2 for 3 with three RBI while throwing four strikeouts and giving up five hits. Joseph Hackett and Josh Soelter went 2 for 2 and 1 for 4, respectively, with two RBIs each.
For the second game, Mason Bicknase and Vincent Schultz went 1 for 4 and 1 for 2, respectively, with two RBIs each. Schultz also scored two runs.
The Cardinals (13-1) face Jackson County Central at home Tuesday, May 13 at 5:30.

MOUNTAIN LAKE 5
TRUMAN – The Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars bested Mountain Lake 6-5 in eight innings Friday.
Bowan Sill had a game-winning, three-RBI double, while Carter Langford had one RBI. Braeden Shell gave up one earned run and struck out six.
The Jaguars (4-10) have their next game Monday at 4:30 p.m. in Sleepy Eye against Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s.

MARTIN COUNTY WEST 0
ST. JAMES – The Martin County West Mavericks lost in five innings to St. James 10-0 in a Tournament game Friday.
Jeremiah Olson and Eli Owens each drew two walks. In the loss, Noah Meizell gave up four earned runs and had three strikeouts.
The Mavericks (3-8) play United South Central Saturday at 2 p.m.

NICOLLET – The Martin County West Mavericks beat Nicollet 10-9 in a Valley Division softball game Thursday.
With the victory, the Mavericks win the Valley Division.
Bailey Larson had three hits with three RBIs. Emily Anderson and Addy Wohlhuter had one hit and one RBI each.
The Mavericks (13-2) head to Lamberton Saturday to play Yellow Medicine East in the Red Rock Central Tournament at 9:30 a.m.
