Rohman wins 133 class at Redwood River Riot

REDWOOD – The Martin County Area Red Bulls finished 17th in the Redwood River Riot over the weekend.

Pierce Rohman led the Red Bulls, who secured first place in the 133 weight class, defeating Teague Meyere by technical fall 19-3, then pinning Damian Seubert in the second round. Rohman then took a major decision of 9-1 over Colton Noble, then defeated Wyatt Novitzki by a major decision of 3-2. Rohman secured victory in the first-place match by decision over Tucker Skluzacek 6-3.

Torrey Paplow (145) received a bye in his first match and defeated Braxton Keicker by tech fall 20-4. Paplow then defeated Troy Doroff by tech fall 20-4 then pinned Benito Diaz securing the second-place finish.

Berent Kosbab scored 8 points for the Red Bulls pinning Trey Zamarron and Ty Yackley, while Maddex Faber (160) secured a fifth-place finish by pinning Maxxis Ross and securing a tech fall over Jaeden Hubbard 17-1. Faber fell to Brayden Chandler in a quarter-final match but won two of his consolation matches defeating Dirk Haynes via a 6-1 decision and securing a major decision over Caleb Wolf 10-2 before pinning Quintin Lewis in the fifth-place match.

Ty Kolbe (172) scored a total of 4 points for the Red Bulls after a first-round bye Kolbe lost by tech fall to Thomas Schlangen before pinning Jesse Bullerman and winning a decision over Isaiah Wolske.

SAUK CENTRE – The Fairmont Bantam B hockey team secured a seventh-place finish in the I-94 tournament over the weekend.

In Game 1 Fairmont fell to Eden Prarie 10-3. Scoring for Fairmont was Kane Wohlhuter with two goals and Lucas Kotewa with one goal, while Tyler Pankow and Preston Geerdes each added an assist. Fairmont goaltender Kolton Hinz had 31 saves in the game.

Game 2 was a 5-4 loss against Minneapolis. Scoring for Fairmont were Tyler Pankow, Ian Obernolte, and Wohlhuter. Pankow, Geerdes, Kotewa and Logan Droegemueller all added assists, while Hinz had 31 saves.

Fairmont fell to Prarie Center 9-1 in game 3. Scoring for Fairmont was Geerdes assisted by Wohlhuter, while Hinz had 31 saves.
