Fairmont Cardinals Cross-Country team awards revealed

FAIRMONT – With the season ending and Fairmont having a solid season behind senior Macy Hanson’s fifth State Cross-Country Championships appearance, the Cardinals have announced their team awards for the year for their girls and boys.

Hanson secured the MVP title for the girls coming off of a third-place finish at the state meet, while Reese Fenske took home the Most Improved title. Carys Gudahl won the Hardest Worker award for the girls and Addison Lintelman took the Outstanding junior high girls award. Claiming the Rookie of Year title was Delaney Klug, while the Cardinal award winner went to Kendra Bloomster.

Taking home the MVP for the boys was Cooper Gudahl, while Most Improved went to Devin Hanson and Jaydon Putney took home the Hardest Worker award. Cole Hanson took home the Outstanding Junior High title for the boys and Leon Yang secured the Rookie of the Year award for the junior high team, while Matthew Senneff secured the Cardinal Award for the boys team.

The young squad outperformed expectations and found the podium often despite the loss of some of their best runners the Cardinals had a successful season with a large portion of the team setting personal records and some course records throughout the year.
