FAIRMONT 49, WORTHINGTON 9

WORTHINGTON — The Fairmont Cardinals rolled to a 49-9 win over the Worthington Trojans this past Friday night behind Elijah Johnson’s five-touchdown night.

Johnson finished with 13 carries for 210 yards and five touchdowns to lead Fairmont, while Joe Long completed 6 of 8 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown to Tavian Harvey, who had five catches for 86 yards. Also for Fairmont in the win, Jerry Lebbi had six carries for 48 yards and a touchdown. Lucas Rosburg made all seven PAT kicks for the Cardinals.

Nolan Schultze had an interception for the Fairmont defense.

Fairmont (6-1) is at Waseca (6-1) for a 7 p.m. game Wednesday night in the final week of the regular season.

LCWM 3, BEA 0

LAKE CRYSTAL – The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers (5-21) fell to Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial in nonconference volleyball match Monday 25-8, 25-16, 25-18.

Leading the Buccaneers was Autumn Gordon with six kills and five digs, while Anna Mwangi added three kills and Tailor Douglas had two kills, four digs and went 10 for 10 serving with two aces. Madison Ehrich added seven assists and an ace, while Taylor Ripley had five assists and six digs. Madelyn Ferguson added 12 digs, Rhionna Weerts had two digs and Sarah Dohm had an ace block.

The Buccaneers’ next match is Thursday against an opponent to be determined in playoff action.
