TRIMONT – Martin County West shut down Madelia in three sets in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Valley Division volleyball match Thursday 25-15, 25-20, 25-20.

Leading MCW was Emily Anderson, who had 10 kills, 22 assists and 10 digs, and Maddie Carlson, who added eight kills, 19 assists and 17 digs. Gianna Chase had four kills and 11 assists, while Meia Schuett tacked on three kills and seven assists on the night.

MCW’s next match is against the Blue Earth Area Buccaneers on Monday.

GHEC/T/ML 3, MLA 0

TRUMAN – The Granada-Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars defeated Mountain Lake Area 25-22, 25-22, 25-17 in a nonconference volleyball match Thursday.

Leading the Jaguars was Londyn Bowers with 14 kills and six digs, while Madisen Lewis added five kills and nine blocks. Ashley Singleton had four aces and four digs, while Harley Giestfeld added an ace and four blocks of her own. Keira Benck and Addison Sill added nine assists each.

The Jaguars’ next match is Monday at Cedar Mountain.

WASECA 3, BEA 2

BLUE EARTH – The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers fell to Waseca in five sets by a score of 22-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-21, 18-16 in a Big South Conference volleyball match Thursday.

Leading the Buccaneers was Autumn Gordon with 26 kills, 23 digs and two blocks, while Tailor Douglas added nine kills and 15 digs. Anna Mwangi had six kills and three blocks, while Taylor Ripley added four kills, 17 assists and a block. Sarah Dohm put up two kills and a block, while Madelyn Ferguson had three assists and 31 digs, while Madison Ehrich added 20 assists on the night.

BEA’s next match is at MCW on Monday.
