Fairmont girls run by Tri-City United
FAIRMONT – The Fairmont Cardinals cruised by Tri-City United 7-2 in a Big South Conference girls soccer game Thursday night at Jeffrey Kot Field.
The Fairmont girls soccer team is now 8-0-1 after the victory.
Scoring for the Cardinals was Kennedy Becker with two goals, one in the 11th Minute and the other in the 44th minute. Both of Becker’s goals were assisted by Grace Simpson. Also scoring for Fairmont was Cadence Leiding, who added two goals of her own, one in 16th minute courtesy of a Madison Pluim assist and another in the 20th minute off of a Kaitlyn Hinz assist. Mollie Leiding buried one of her own off of an assist from Frankie Martin in the 29th minute, followed by Abbie Simpson scoring in the 33rd minute off of a Becker assist. Grace Simpson scored in the second half off of a Leiding assist in the 73rd minute.
Fairmont goalkeeper Mary Bennet had five saves, only allowing one goal, while keeper Addie Folkerts saved three shots and gave up one goal in the second half.
The Fairmont girls soccer team is at St. Peter on Tuesday for their next matchup.
