BELLE PLAINE – The Fairmont girls tennis team secured the victory over Belle Plaine 4-3 in a conference tennis match Tuesday afternoon.

Emelia Klanderud won her No. 1 singles match against Lydia Sparby 6-3, 6-2, while Allison Slama won her No. 2 singles match against Kayla Streich 7-6, 6-3. Madisyn Peyman lost her No. 3 singles match against Nina Messer 6-4, 6-2, while Carly Gustafson lost her No. 4 singles match against Olivia Walter 6-1, 6-1.

Claire Brockmann and Sam Thatcher won their No. 1 doubles match against Sophia Kruschke 6-1, 6-4, while Cailwyn Jobe and Emily Wheeler lost their No. 2 doubles match against Ella Thorstad and Olivia Endres 6-1, 6-3, 7-5. Katherine Zelaya and Madysen Tonne won their No. 3 Taylor Menke and Josephine Voigt 6-2, 6-3, 6-4.

Fairmont’s next match is at home against Tri-City United Thursday.

BEA 7, TRI-CITY/CLEVELAND 0

BLUE EARTH – The Blue Earth Area girls tennis team defeated the Tri-City/Cleveland 7-0 in a conference tennis match Tuesday.

Grace Hanson won her No. 1 singles match against Ellie Adams 6-1, 6-3, while Addison Prescher won her No. 2 singles match against Anne Cooper 6-1, 6-0. Abbey Lorenz won her No. 3 tennis match against Reagan Steffen 6-4, 6-1, while Abigail Greff won her No. 4 singles match against Destynee Wolff 6-2, 6-4.

Carol Schrader and Erin Prescher won their No.1 doubles match against Ava Flintrop and Avery Lerfald 6-4, 6-1, while Grace Schavey and Brooklyn Rosenau won their No. 2 doubles match against Addison Houn and Cristina Cruz 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. Mckinley Hanson and Katelyn Storbeck defeated Hallie Holicky and Camryn Holicky in their No. 3 doubles match 5-7, 7-6, 10-7.

BEA’s next match is at Belle Plaine Thursday.

PREP VOLLEYBALL

TCU 3, BEA 0

MONTGOMERY – The Blue Earth Area volleyball team was defeated by Tri-City United in a conference volleyball match 25-23, 25-18, 25-13.

Leading BEA was Autumn Gordon with nine kills and 13 digs, while Taylor Ripley added five kills and seven set assists. With them was Tailor Douglas who had four kills and seven digs.

Now 1-4 on the season, BEA’s next match is at home Tuesday against New Ulm.

BOYS SOCCER

WORTHINGTON 15, FAIRMONT 1

WORTHINGTON – The Worthington boys soccer team defeated the Fairmont Cardinals 15-1 in a Big South Conference soccer game Tuesday.

Fairmont’s only goal on the night came from Dani Castillo assisted by Leonardo Fortin in the first half. Worthington outshot Fairmont 23-3 in shots on goal.

The Cardinal’s next game is at Albert Lea Saturday.
