LUVERNE — Ella Reisdorfer and Amira Cowell produced a respective 1-2 finish in the all-around competition to power the Luverne Cardinals to a 136.85-133.775 dual-meet triumph over the Martin County Area Magic during Big South Conference gymnastics action Tuesday night in Luverne.

Reisdorfer and Cowell fended off the Magic’s high-octane tandem of Hannah Cole and Lillie Schultz in the overall individual competition. Reisdorfer claimed the all-around crown with a total of 35.325 points, while Cowell nailed down runner-up accolades with a score of 35.125 for Luverne.

Cole, who tied Cowell for top honors on the vault with a pair of 9.275s and won the balance beam title with a 9.0 score, pocketed third place in the all-around for MCA with a 35.05. Schultz, who claimed third place on the floor exercise with an 8.775, garnered fourth overall with a four-event score of 33.2 for the Magic.

Jadyn Montgomery and Abi Chavez rounded out MCA’s solid point production by netting a 32.375 and a 31.725, respectively, in the all-around competition.

Reisdorfer claimed second place behind Cole and Cowell off the vault table with a 9.2, Cardinal teammate Kendra Thorson netted third with a 9.125, while Schultz finished fourth at 9.1.

Reisdorfer fended off Cole for top honors on the uneven parallel bars, 8.575-8.475, while Montgomery pocketed third place for the Magic with an 8.3.

Cole outdistanced Reisdorfer on the balance beam — 9.0-8.6, while Cowell delivered a third-place performance of 8.525 for Luverne.

Cowell, however, outdueled Reisdorfer as the meet’s top floor performancer by tallying a winning score of 9.1 to Reisdorfer’s runner-up 8.95.

Schultz claimed third with an 8.775 floor score, while Chavez pocketed fourth place with tumbling sequences totaling an 8.575 for MCA.

Martin County Area (8-2) travels to Pipestone on Thursday night.
