Road-tested Buc netters serve 5-2 loss to Bluejays
WASECA — Blue Earth Area continued its all-road schedule by netting a 5-2 victory over the Waseca Bluejays during Big South Conference girls tennis action Thursday in Waseca.
Addison Armstrong required only a baker’s dozen games to defeat Bluejays opponent Sarah Haley at first singles, 6-0, 6-1, while Olivia Dutton also collected a team point for the Bucs by posting back-to-back 6-3 set wins over Takya Schoenrock at the No. 2 position in the lineup.
Grace Hanson delivered BEA’s third point from the singles division by downing Maddy Benson, 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 3 position in the lineup.
Carol Schrader and Ashlyn Klinkner teamed at first doubles to outlast Waseca’s Mia Kanewischer and Elizabeth Roessler in a three-set clash, 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 6-2, while Addison Prescher and Erin Prescher chipped in a third doubles win by shutting out Ashton Jenzen and Esme Pearce in 12 straight games.
Addie Pfeifer produced a win in singles for the Bluejays by beating Abbey Lorenz at the No. 4 spot by a 6-0, 6-2 score.
Paige Dufault and Vivian Mader rounded out Waseca’s effort by defeating Mckinley Hanson and Lauren Survis at the No. 2 doubles position, 6-3, 6-3.
Blue Earth Area travels to St. Peter on Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. Big South Conference dual meet.
