Fairmont summer soccer action heats up
FAIRMONT — Summer games continued during Fairmont Soccer Association league action at Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont and on the road as the teams closed out May and began a stretch run in June.
U12 Girls Division
Mountain Lake 5, Saxton Farms 2 — Saxton Farm’s Olive Kawecki scored both goals in a 5-2 loss to host Mountain Lake on June 1. Emma Byers and Lillyann Mathiason had the assists on those goals.
New Ulm 7, Saxton Farms 2 — Amelia Sidles and Olive Kawecki tallied goals to lead Saxton Farms, while Kawecki had an assist on Sidles’ goal on June 4 in Mankato.
In net, both Khloee Minscer and Susan Hackett had six saves for Fairmont.
New Ulm 5, Saxton Farms 2 — Olive Kawecki scored both goals for Saxton Farms in a game played June 7 in New Ulm. Natalie Jorgensen and Ellana Peters had the assists. In net, Khloee Minscer made eight saves, and Susan Hackett made three saves for FaIrmont.
Day Plumbing Heating & Cooling 0, New Ulm 0 — Day Plumbing Heating & Cooling’s Alaina Helmers made four saves in goal in the defensive, scoreless game played June 5 at the Martin Luther College soccer complex in New Ulm.
Day Plumbing Heating & Cooling 6, Mountain Lake 0 — Day Plumbing Heating & Cooling’s Justiss Hansen and Gemminnie Lopez each tallied two goals, while Marley Perkins and Isabelle Soelter scored one goal apiece in the victory in a game played June 7 in Mountain Lake. Soelter chipped in with an assist.
Mankato 3, Day Plumbing Heating & Cooling 2 — Ela Walters-Hinz and Gemminnie Lopez scored Day Plumbing Heating & Cooling’s two goals in a game played May 31at the Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont. Both were unassisted. Lucy Koch recorded nine saves in net.
Mankato 6, Saxton Farms 3 — Kensley Tietje, Khloee Minscer and Natalie Jorgensen scored one goal apiece for Saxton Farms in a game played May 31 at the Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.
Emma Byers had the only assist, while teammate Susan Hackett had 12 saves in net for Saxton Farms.
St. Peter 7, Saxton Farms 1 — Natalie Jorgensen scored Saxton Farms’ lone goal off an Emma Byers’ assist in a game played June 3 at St. Peter.
U14 Girls Division
Mankato 2, Hawkins Chevrolet 0 — Mankato downed Hawkins Chevrolet 2-0 on May 25. Goalkeeper Joslyn Meyer had one save for Fairmont.
Hawkins Chevrolet 3, Minnesota Rush 1 — Makenzie Gerhardt, Lianna Weber and Ellie Perkins scored Hawkins Chevrolet’s three goals to lead to a 3-1 win on May 30 at the Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.
Mollie Leiding had a team-leading two assists and Weber had one helper for the winning team.
Goalie Joslyn Meyer turned away three shots to help Hawkins.
Minnesota Rush U14 4, Hawkins Chevrolet 0 — Joslyn Meyer made four saves in net for Hawkins Chevrolet in a game on June 3 at the Fairmont Soccer Complex.
Hawkins Chevrolet 3, Owatonna U14 Black 1 — Makenzie Gerhardt, Lianna Weber and Ellie Perkins each scored one goal for Hawkins Chevrolet in a game played June 8 in Fairmont.
Perkins, Weber and Lily Reyelts each made an assist. In net, Addison Folkerts had five saves.
U16 Girls Division
Minnesota Rush 5, Bank Midwest 0 — Mary Bennett had 10 saves for Bank Midwest in a game played June 7 at the Fuad Mansour Sports Complex in Rochester.
U18 Girls Division
Owatonna 3, Edward Jones 0 — Edward Jones’ Madilyn Stromberg had seven saves for the home team on June 1 at the Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.
Associate Optometry 7, Minnesota Rush 1 — Kate Busche scored two goals, while Kennedy Becker, Emma Scheppmann, Anna Utermarck, Abby Cihoski and Hannah Goerndt each tallied one goal to lead Associate Optometry in a game played June 8 in Fairmont.
Scheppmann had three assists and Elayna Anderson two helpers to lead Fairmont. Utermarck also had an assist.
U12 Boys Division
Fairmont Fire Fighter Relief Fund 3, St. Peter 2 — Cameron Nelson, Grant Simmering and Bladen Ricard each scored one goal in the victory for Fire Fighter Relief Fund in a game played June 5 in Fairmont.
Carter Simmering had two assists and Ricard had one. Cooper Wiederhoeft recorded two saves and Chase Haugen had seven.
Mountain Lake 12, Edward Jones 0 — Leander Nelson was busy in goal, making 11 saves for Edward Jones in a game played June 5 at the Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont.
Dawson O’Brien had four saves and Aaron Mosloski saw time in net for Edward Jones.
New Ulm 3, Fire Fighter Relief Fund 2 — Bladen Ricard and Carter Simmering tallied goals in a close loss for Fairmont in a game played May 31 in New Ulm. Simmering also had an assist. Cooper Wiedehoeft made three saves and Chase Hagen made four saves.
St. Peter 4, Edward Jones 1 — Henry Schwieger had Edward Jones’ only goal in a game played June 1 in St. Peter. Goalie Leander Nelson had nine stops.
Fire Fighter Relief Fund 6, Edward Jones 2 — Bladen Ricard had a hat trick for Fire Fighter Relief Fund, while Carter Simmering had two tallies in a game played June 7 at the Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont. Jaxson Weine also scored a goal in the win. For Edward Jones, Henry Schweiger scored both goals.
U14 Boys Division
New Ulm 4, Cress Refrigeration 3 — Dammon Castillo, Eduardo Souza and Xavier Garcia scored goals for Cress Refrigeration in a game played June 6 in New Ulm. Brody Deuel had six save in net, while Vaughn Thompson added four saves for the visitors.
New Ulm 3, Cress Refrigeration 0 — Brody Deuel made 12 saves in a losing cause for Cress Refrigeration in a game played May 26 in New Ulm.
St. Peter 3, Cress Refrigeration 1 — Xavier Garcia scored an unassisted goal for Cress Refrigeration in a game played May 30 in St. Peter. In net for Cress, Brady Deuel made nine saves, while Vaughn Thompson had six saves.
Cress Refrigeration 5, Mankato 2 — No goal scorers were listed, but in net, Brody Deuel had three saves and Vaughn Thompson had one save in the win for Cress Refrigeration in a game played June 2 in Mankato.
U18 Boys Division
Owatonna 9, Rosen’s Inc. 1 — Jack Sadusky scored Rosen Inc.’s only goal, and in net Rafael Becerra Martinez had nine saves in a game played May 31 at the Kot Soccer Complex in Fairmont. Thomas Hamlet also played goalie and had one save.
Northfield 4, Rosen’s Inc. 2 — Jack Sadusky and Henry Zuniga tallied goals for Rosen’s Inc. in a game played June 8 at Northfield Spring Creek Park, while Josiah Hoye and Sadusky each had one assist for Rosen’s Inc.
Goalies Angel Sanchez and Aaron Graplar had four and eight saves, respectively, for Rosen’s Inc.
