Jaguars topple Blackhawks in Valley hoops
MADELIA — The Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars utilized a 17-0 offensive outburst during the first half to build a 41-36 lead over the Madelia Blackhawks during Valley Conference boys basketball action Saturday afternoon in Madelia.
The visiting Jaguars then outscored the Blackhawks by a 32-20 margin during the second 18-minute segment to cap a 73-56 victory.
Kayden Loeschen generated a team-leading 16 points to pace a balanced Jaguars’ scoring performance, while teammate Jackson Madsen tossed in 13 points.
Peyton Franzen, Jakob Fischer and Carter Fox each contributed 12 points to the Jaguars’ winning effort.
Eric Anderson produced a game-best 17 points to top Madelia’s performance, while Josiah DeMaris added 16 points.
Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther (1-2) travels to Nicollet tonight, while Madelia (2-3) hits the road to Sherburn on Tuesday to play Martin County West.
