Fairmont 12U girls hockey nets 3rd place at tournament

FAIRMONT — Fairmont netted a 3-1 record en route to capturing third place at the 12U All-American Girls Hockey Tournament on Nov. 11-13 in Blaine.

Lexi Haycraft produced a hat trick and Lauren Bettin distributed two assists to help pace Fairmont’s 5-1 victory over North Wright County in the tournament’s third-place game on Nov. 13.

Mariel Parish and Haylyn Haycraft contributed one goal each to the win, while Kynlee Beemer doled out one assist.

Ironically, Osseo/Maple Grove edged Fairmont in the tourney opener, 4-3, on Nov. 11.

Lexi Haycraft generated three goals, while Avery Kurt and Bettin distributed two helpers each. Beemer chipped in one assist.

Parish erupted for a game-best five goals, while Haylyn Haycraft collected one goal and three assists to power Fairmont to a 10-0 second-round triumph over Cloquet/Esko/Carlton on Nov. 12.

Lexi Haycraft netted one goal and two helpers, Kennedy Murphy contributed one goal and one assist, while Kylie Flanagan dished out two assists.

Maya Earhart and Bettin added one goal apiece to Fairmont’s winning performance.

Parish continued her high-octane scoring by delivering two goals and two assists to engineer Fairmont’s 7-1 third-round win over Stillwater on Nov. 12.

Flanagan, Bettin and Haylyn Haycraft each tallied one goal and one helper, while Earhart doled out two assists.

Lexi Haycraft chipped in a net-finding shot, while Evie Folkert and Kurt added one assist each.

Pee Wee ‘B’

Luther Malo and Tyler Pankow each produced a hat trick and one assist to trigger the Fairmont Pee Wee ‘B’ hockey team to an 11-1 rout over Marshall on Sunday in Marshall.

Preston Geerdes generated one goal and two assists for Fairmont, while teammates Kane Wohlhuter and Hogan Artz supplied one goal and one helper.

Hadyn Lillevold and Blake Thompson each tallied one goal for Fairmont, while goalie Kolton Hinz recorded 12 saves in the win.
