BLUE EARTH — The Blue Earth Area Bucs used a sweep of their four singles matches to beat the Marshall Tigers 5-2 on Tuesday at the Hal Schroeder Courts in Blue Earth.

BEA’s Addison Armstrong was pushed to the limit in the first set against Regan Loft, but prevailed 7-6 (7-2) and went on to win the second set 6-2 to earn the team point at No. 1 singles.

At No. 2 singles, BEA’s Olivia Dutton defeated Taylor DePover in a thrilling three-set battle, 6-4, 6-7 (6-8), 7-5, while BEA teammate Grace Hanson beat Naomi Schroeder 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

It wasn’t easy, but BEA’s Lauren Survis completed the singles sweep after beating Siri Christensen 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of Carol Schrader and Ashlyn Klinkner earned the Bucs’ final point, beating Taylor Miller and Cecily Aufenthie by a 7-5, 6-3 decision.

At No. 2 doubles, Bucs’ Erika Gaydon and McKinley Hanson extended their match to three sets, but lost a 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 1-6 decision to Marshall opponents Olivia Penske and Eliza Holmgren.

BEA’s Erin Prescher and Addison Prescher lost 6-3, 6-2 to Justine Kirst and Aubrey Schaefer at No. 3 doubles.

The Bucs (7-11) host Worthington at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hal Schroeder Courts in Blue Earth.
