MORTON — After the points earned from Monday’s Big South Conference tournaments were added to regular-season divisional event totals, four Fairmont girls golfers earned all-league honors to guide the Cardinals to the East Division championship and runner-up accolades to host Redwood Valley on the overall ledger.

Three Blue Earth Area girls players, one Buc boys golfer and four Fairmont boys players also garnered overall all-BSC honors by finishing 18th or higher in the points standings.

“It’s a bit difficult to wrap your brain around the points system, but it seems to work overall,” said Fairmont head golf coach Brad Haugen, whose girls lineup finished just three strokes off Redwood Valley’s tournament-winning total of 354 at the Dacotah Ridge Golf Club’s course outside of Morton on Monday. “Today’s tournament was worth more points than the regular-season meets, but it really didn’t change too much overall.”

Bailey Martinson, Maggy Totzke and Anika Haugen produced top-five showings during Monday’s official tourney to pace a second-place score of 357 — 20 shots better than third-place Blue Earth Area. Brynn Gustafson and Solveig Senf tied for 14th overall, while Lauren Davis claimed 40th place for Fairmont on Monday.

Totzke, Anika Haugen, Senf and Gustafson all merited all-BSC honors, with Martinson narrowly missing the top 18 due to her absence from a regular-season event.

Martinson, however, carded an 18-hole round of 44-40-84 to earn the BSC tourney’s bronze medal behind Redwood Valley teammates Mila Jenniges (80) and Julian Brown (82) on Monday. Martinson birdied the par-4 No. 12 and the par-5 No. 18 to complement five pars to top Fairmont’s performance.

Totzke penciled in a fourth-place individual total of 45-44-89 with six pars, while Anika Haugen tied Blue Earth Area’s Katelyn Storbeck for fifth place overall at 90. Haugen shot a 47-43, highlighted by six pars, while Katelyn Storbeck — who earned all-BSC honors overall — fired a 48-42 with a pair of pars for the Bucs (377).

Gustafson produced a 53-41-94 by making birdie on the par-4 14th hole to go with four pars, while Senf registered a 44-50-94 on the strength of a team-best seven pars.

Davis rounded out Fairmont’s effort with back-to-back 54s.

Kylie Rosenau, who tied for seventh place during Monday’s tourney, and Payten Gudahl, who shared 16th overall, also earned all-BSC accolades for Blue Earth Area. Rosenau fired a 45-46-91 with four pars, while Gudahl netted back-to-back 48s for a 96, including a team-best five pars.

Rylan Storbeck completed the Bucs’ counting marks in Monday’s event by shooting a 48-52-100 with two pars. Madison Ehrich and Liz Beeler capped Blue Earth Area’s effort with a 106 and a 107, with one and two pars, respectively.

Fairmont junior Brock Lutterman, who earned all-BSC honors, garnered Monday’s boys tournament medalist honors by carding a 4-over 37-39-76 to top his lineup’s third-place total of 336 — only one off Marshall’s runner-up 335 and a dozen behind overall conference and tourney champion St. Peter (324). Marshall, the West Division boys winner, proved the BSC overall runner-up.

Lutterman displayed his skills on the greens by dropping home birdies on the par-5 third hole and the par-4 No. 17. Lutterman also led Fairmont with 11 pars, including a string of five in a row from No. 4 to No. 8 on Monday.

Hartley Aust tied for ninth during BSC tournament action Monday, with the trio of Jacob Harris, Alexander Moeller and Mathew Cone — each all-conference players — rounding out Fairmont’s counting scores on the meet.

Aust delivered a 40-45-85 with eight pars, while Harris chipped in a 44-43-87 to pack scoring punch. Harris birdied the par-4 second hole and added four pars.

Moeller and Cone each carded 88s en route to seven and six pars, respectively. Moeller penciled in a 45-43 — highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 18th hole, while Cone tallied a 42-46 with a birdie on the par-5 sixth hole.

Niko Flanagan rounded out Fairmont’s effort in Monday’s tournament by shooting a 53-39-92, including a birdie on the par-4 No. 2 hole and another on the par-4 15th. Flanagan connected for six pars on the round, including five on the back nine.

Eli Blagg tied for 25th overall by firing a 48-42-90 in Monday’s event to top BEA’s ninth-place team total of 368. Blagg connected for three pars.

Junior Ashton Lloyd, who claimed all-BSC honors, netted a 45-47-92 for the Bucs in Monday’s tournament. Lloyd connected for five pars and birdied the par-5 No. 3 hole.

Jackson Blondin and Nathan Murphy completed BEA’s counting marks by shooting a pair of 93s. Blondin netted a 47-46, highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 seventh hole, to complement three pars, while Murphy matched him with a 47-46.

Murphy sank a team-best six pars and birdied the par-4 17th hole.

Kyren Sunken and Gordy Bruellman capped the Bucs’ effort by carding a 94 and a 96, respectively, paced by three and four pars.

Both Blue Earth Area teams travel to Windom today for a meet, while both Fairmont lineups face Marshall in a dual meet at Oakdale Golf Club near Buffalo Lake at 3 p.m. Friday.
