ST. JAMES — Martin County Area all-arounder Ellie Hernes and her teammates nearly made a clean sweep of every event en route to posting a 127.85-104.85 victory over the St. James Area Saints on Thursday night in St. James.

Hernes captured top individual honors in the all-around competition by producing 32.85 points.

Hernes rotated her quarter-three quarter vault to earn first-place accolades at 8.7. The senior standout also posted a winning score of 8.55 on the balance beam.

Hernes claimed runner-up honors to MCA teammate Ellie Schultze on the uneven parallel bars, 7.725-7.575, while adding a third-place showing on the floor exercise at 8.025.

Anna Bachenberg rounded out the Magic’s champions by pocketing the floor exercise with tumbling sequences that earned an 8.525.

Ava Thate finished second on the vault behind Hernes with an 8.45, Abi Chavez placed third at 8.425, while Jadyn Montgomery completed MCA’s sweep with a fourth-place mark of 8.4.

Montgomery packed scoring punch to Schultze and Hernes on the unevens with a third-place mark of 6.9, while Bachenberg claimed fourth at 6.775.

Mollie Leiding took second to Bachenberg on the floor with an 8.125, Hernes was third and Thate capped the team sweep by netting fourth at 7.85.

Hailee Schuett earned second behind Hernes on the beam with an 8.375, while Bachenberg and Schultze shared fourth-place accolades with 7.725s.

St. James Area’s Anna Bogle prevented a Magic sweep on the beam by netting third place with an 8.15. Bogle captured second in the all-around with a total of 30.35 points.

Martin County Area (5-5) travels to Luverne for a rescheduled dual meet on Monday, Feb. 7.
