No. 9 Red Bulls perfect at Plum Creek Duals

TRACY — The Class AA No. 9-ranked Martin County Red Bulls maintained their perfect dual-meet record by stampeding to three consecutive wins during the Plum Creek Invitational on Friday in Tracy.

The Red Bulls posted a 55-21 victory over Adrian Area, rallied for a 47-34 triumph over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove and downed Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie by a 62-15 count.

Maddex Faber, Berent Kosbab, Jesse Potts, Carver Rohman and Alec Thompson each produced pins to help the Red Bulls trample BHVPP.

Faber earned the slap of the canvas in 1:44 over Justin Olson during 106-pound action, while Kosbab doubled Martin County’s early lead to 12-0 on the team ledger by netting a fall in 58 seconds over Preston Captain at 113.

Potts needed less than the first full period — 1:53 — to earn the fall over Deagen Captain during 126-pound action, while Rohman wrestled less than half a frame — 45 seconds — to down Justin Koehn at 170.

Thompson capped the Red Bulls’ falls by requiring only 37 seconds to flatten Collin Moeller at heavyweight.

Wyatt Williamson coasted to a technical fall in 5:43 over Braden Shamp at 195 for Martin County, while Max Olson edged Gideon Ervasti, 12-11, during 220-pound action.

Kain Sanders (145), Aden Welcome (152), Gage Cyphers (160) and Riley Allen (182) all received forfeits for the Red Bulls against BHVPP.

Faber moved up to 113 to produce another fall for the Red Bulls, this time a Mercurial 22-second pin of Izaiah Groenewold of Adrian Area.

Taylor Austin, Williamson and Olson added pins for Martin County against Adrian. Austin raised his hand after a fall in 3:11 over Carlos Castillo at 138, Williamson flattened Quentin Wolf during 182-pound action in 3:54, while Olson needed only 37 seconds to dispose of Roberto Hernandez at 220.

Cooper Steuber and Sanders each netted technical falls for the Red Bulls. Steuber downed Bruce Farinella in 4:11 at 132, while Sanders exited the mat in 2:39 over Reese Morrison at 145.

Joseph Forsberg collected a 7-3 win over Rilee Heidebrink during 152-pound action, while Potts (126), Cyphers (160) and Rohman (170) collected forfeits from Adrian.

The Red Bulls earned falls in seven of their eight winning performances to fend off host TMB/WWG by 13 points.

Faber pinned Linkoln Carlson in 4:14 at 106, Potts downed Damian Alatriste in 47 seconds at 126, while Sanders coasted to a pin in 1:46 over Gage Struchen at 145.

Aden Welcome earned the slap of the canvas in 1:22 over Ashton Squires at 152, Cyphers stunned Isaiah Wolske in 20 seconds at 170, Williamson stuck Michael Timm in 1:04 at 182, while Olson flattened Travis Willhite at 220 in 1:34.

Rohman produced the only non-pin for the Red Bulls, amassing a technical fall in 4:33 over Jonathon Erbes at 160.

David Schuh and Alexander Schuh, grandsons of former FHS teacher Daniel Schuh, each produced falls for TMB/WWG. David Schuh recorded a pin in 3:16 during 113-pound action, while Alexander Schuh collected a fall in 3:25 at 138.

The Martin County Red Bulls (11-0) travel to Waseca on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. triangular with the host Bluejays and Blooming Prairie.
