Waseca sweeps Fairmont in Big South volleyball contest

WASECA — Waseca swept Fairmont during Big South Conference volleyball action, 25-20, 25-12, 25-15, Tuesday night in Waseca.

Brittney Mosloski led the Cardinals with five kills and five digs, while serving 5-for-6. Sabrina Segar dished out eight set assists, while Cassidy Schultz dug out nine spikes.

Madysen Allen served 11 of 12 to complement eight digs, Jaya Johnson had four digs and served 7-for-8, while Maddy Schwieger served a perfect 8-for-8 for the Cardinals.

Fairmont (1-7) awaits a possible rescheduled match for Friday and a cross-over match next Tuesday.

Fairmont defeated Waseca, 25-17, 18-25, 15-8, during B-squad action Tuesday night in Waseca.

Hadley Artz led the Cardinals with 13 digs to complement four kills, 9-for-9 serving and three aces, while Jazlyn Geerdes dug out nine spikes, while spiking six kills.

Kynlie Anderson dished out nine assists and served 11-for-12 with three service aces for the Cardinals.

Waseca’s C-squad claimed a 25-18, 12-25, 15-5 win over Fairmont on Tuesday in Waseca.

Rylyn Larson totaled six digs for the Cardinals, while Nevaeh Rahm had three kills and Grace Pendergast dished out five set assists.

New Ulm 3, Blue Earth Area 0 — The Eagles soared past the Bucs, 25-19, 25-19, 25-9, during Big South Conference play Tuesday in New Ulm.

Liz Beeler dished out 20 set assists for the Bucs, while Eloise Blair spiked eight kills, dug out 13 shots and serve 10-for-10 with seven points.

Brita Hougen totaled four kills for the Bucs, while Maci Frommie had five spike-winners and Emma Langager spiked three kills. Miya Gustafson totaled eight digs and Hailey Becker served 8-for-9 with five points.

BEA (1-6) goes to St. James for a Big South Conference matchup at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 3, Martin County West 1 — The Knights powered past the Mavericks in four games Tuesday night in Lake Crystal.

Taylor Elliott led the Mavericks with 15 digs, 12 kills and three service aces, while Hailee Schuett served two aces.

Emily Dunlop dug out 13 spikes and racked up five kills, while Lucy Larson also totaled 13 digs and spiked three kills.

Katie Hummel dished out nine set assists, while Emily Anderson had six.

MCW (2-7) plays host to Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman at 7:15 p.m. Thursday in Trimont.
