WASECA — Martin County Area’s Sabrina Segar, Anna Bachenberg and Hailee Schuett delivered another 1-3-4 showing in the all-around competition to power the Magic to a 131.55-128.4 Big South Conference gymnastics victory over the Waseca Bluejays on Monday night in Waseca.

Segar delivered first-place performances on both the vault and floor exercise to highlight her winning total of 34.075 points to fend off Waseca rival Jordan Hofmeister’s runner-up score of 33.375 in the all-around.

Bachenberg narrowly missed matching Hofmeister overall by generating a third-place all-around mark of 33.35, while Schuett nailed down fourth place with a 32.15.

Segar and Schuett produced bookend top-four scores on the vault for Martin County Area. Segar planted a Tsukahara to place first with a 9.25, while Schuett placed fourth on the strength of an 8.575-scored vault.

Segar, Bachenberg. Abi Chavez and Schuett then garnered a respective top-four individual sweep on the floor to pack scoring punch for the Magic.

Segar generated a winning mark of 9.45, Bachenberg sent the judges’ scorecards to 9.05 for runner-up honors, Chavez delivered a third-place total of 8.8, while Schuett capped the dominant scoring with a fourth-place mark of 8.7.

Hofmeister captured top accolades on both the uneven parallel bars and balance beam to pace her high-scoring ways for Waseca.

Hofmeister fended off Bachenberg for first place on the uneven bars, 7.75-7.575, while Schuett and Hudson Ringnell generated a 7.3 and a 7.125, respectively, to add third and fourth place to the Magic’s scoring column. Segar garnered fifth on the unevens with a 7.1.

Hofmeister then shared first-place honors on the balance beam with Bluejays teammate Sarah Kummerfeldt by notching identical scores of 8.425.

Bachenberg and Segar shared second place on the beam by scoring 8.275 apiece, while Schuett rounded out the top four on the event with a 7.575.

Maddy Reyes placed third on the beam (8.125) for Waseca, while Hofmeister delivered a second-place showing (8.7) on the vault. Emily Farly placed third on the vault (8.6) for the Bluejays.

Martin County Area travels to St. James Area on Thursday.
