Becker on hot hitting streak

PASCO, Washington — Luke Becker’s potent swing has returned.

Becker pounded out seven hits during his last 15 at-bats to produce eight RBI during his last four games with the Tri-City Dust Devils.

Becker, who generated four RBI during last Thursday’s Northwest League Class A Short Season baseball game, has improved his batting average to .229 during a split 30-game tenure with the Dust Devils this summer.

Becker, a Northrop native and former three-sport Fairmont High School standout, and Tri-City have three games remaining this season after Monday night’s contest.

BEA, SJA tennis ranked in state

BLUE EARTH — The Blue Earth Area Bucs and the St. James Area Saints maintained their respective spots in the Minnesota Tennis Coaches Association’s weekly state rankings on Monday.

Blue Earth Area holds the No. 6 position in the Class A team poll, while St. James Area remains at the No. 7 spot.

Blake is the No. 1-ranked girls tennis team in the poll, while Blake’s Arlina Shen holds the No. 1 spot in the individual rankings.

Le Sueur-Henderson’s Greta Nesbit is ranked eighth in the Class A state individual tennis poll.
