Knights volleyball outspikes Jaguars
SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Knights caged the Martin Luther/ Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman Jaguars during nonconference volleyball action Monday night.
The Knights posted a 3-1 winning decision over the Jaguars in Sleepy Eye. St. Mary’s captured respective game wins of 25-9, 25-13, 20-25 and 25-18.
Middle hitter Michaelah Petrowiak led the Jaguars’ offense with seven kills, while Mallery Geistfeld had five kills.
Both Steinhaus sisters patrolled the Jaguar defense, with Kambria Steinhaus leading the team with 17 digs, while Lydia Steinhaus had 14 digs to complement her 15 set assists.
The Jaguars (0-2) go on the road to face United South Central at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, while the Knights play host to Minnesota Valley Lutheran at 7 p.m. tonight in Sleepy Eye.
