Warriors softball sails by Eagles, 16-6
SWEA CITY — The North Union Warriors captured a 16-6 win in a run-rule shortened game over the Eagle Grove Eagles during Top of Iowa Conference softball action Wednesday night in Swea City.
Shawna Person produced three hits, two RBIs and a run scored for the Warriors, while teammate Cassie Beadle had two hits and three runs scored.
Olivia Von Bank generated two hits and three runs scored, while Maddie Rolling had two hits and a run scored for North Union. Vanessa Von Bank also had two hits and two runs scored, while Shantel Engeman had a hit.
Engeman also pitched all five innings, allowing six runs — five earned — on six hits and two walks, while striking out two. Person ended the game with a two out, two-run double in the fifth.
The Warriors (6-10) play host to North Butler at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
