Fairmont spikes Waseca

WASECA – Bailee Swanson produced 10 kills, 10 set assists and 13 digs to help propel the Fairmont Cardinals to a 25-19, 20-25, 25-20, 25-18 Big South Conference volleyball victory over the Waseca Bluejays on Monday night in Waseca.

Courtney Williams pounded out 11 kills to complement seven digs for the Cardinals, while teammate Alli Lardy drilled eight kills.

Madison Hennager doled out 20 set assists, while the Fairmont trio of Taylor Crissinger, Mallory Mos-loski and Alexa Mosloski recorded four kills apiece.

Ericka Kim made nine digs for the Cardinals, while Mallory Gochanour and Mariah Gochanour contributed six and four digs, respectively.

Fairmont (5-3) hosts Marshall at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

Fairmont swept Waseca, 25-18, 25-14, during junior varsity action Monday.

Lindsey Tonne finished with five kills, while Brenna Cutler and Ana Krause each contributed four kills apiece for the Cardinals.

Jaiden Leiding doled out seven set assists and had six ace serves, while Emma Ward served four aces.

Waseca downed Fairmont in B-squad action, 25-23, 25-16, Monday.

Morgan Sanvig served four aces and made three kills for the Cardinals, while Abby Tonder and Whitney Scott each tallied three kills.

Andrea Westcott notched eight aces on 12-for-13 serving to guide Fairmont to a 25-16, 25-14 win over Waseca in C-squad action.

Sophie Johnson went 8 of 9 serving with four aces, while Kylee Harder served 7 of 8 for four aces.

The North Union volleyball lineup compiled a 3-2 record at the Spirit Lake Invitational on Saturday.

Senior hitter Olivia Marlow paced North Union’s frontline attack by hammering a team-best 29 kills during the five-match span.

Erin Goraczkowski contributed 12 kills for the Warriors, while Hallie Reese supplied 11 kills.

Alexis Valvick distributed a team-leading 34 set assists while connecting on 19-for-19 of her serves for three aces for North Union, while Kate Anderson doled out 28 set assists and had four aces behind 24-for-27 serving.

Anna Ingalls made a team-best 36 digs for the green-and-white attack to complement 46-for-46 serving, while Bre Anderson delivered 15 digs.

North Union (9-7) travels to Algona, Iowa, tonight to play Bishop Garrigan.
