Event seeks to form connections
This week a Hispanic Voices in Martin County panel and fiesta took place at the Knights of Columbus in Fairmont. The debut event was well-attended by members of the broader community. Thanks to the many people and organizations that played a hand in planning the event. We hope to see more events like this take place in the future.
Council reviews admin. candidates
The Fairmont City Council heard about three potential city administrator candidates at a special meeting this week. It sounds like there are some promising candidates with good experience on the table. The next step is to bring the candidates in for an in-person interview with council, at which time a meet and greet will also be held for the community.
New CER programs offered
Fairmont Community Education and Recreation’s digital fall brochure is out and full of both popular and returning programs, as well as a few news ones, including an exciting cross country youth program. CER is a great tool for our community with its variety of programs and classes. Thank you for always looking to add opportunities for youth and adults in our area.
Finstad visits Harsco Rail
Congressman Brad Finstad visited Harsco Rail in Fairmont this week. It was nice of Finstad to recognize the importance of this local business and the unique role that it plays. It’s also nice to hear that Harsco may be adding some more jobs in the future.
