New family takes over Bean Town

Congratulations to both Steve and Tina Jette and the Parra family on the transfer of ownership of Bean Town restaurant in Fairmont. Thanks to Steve and Tina for bringing the restaurant here more than a decade ago and for searching for the right family to take it over. And thanks to the Parra family for having an interest in keeping the restaurant the same as it’s been. Sounds like a win-win for everyone involved.

Large donation made to community center

Thank you to Bryan and Mary Beth Sweet for your generous donation to the Fairmont Area Community Center. Your gift of $300,000 brings us a step closer to getting this project done. Thank you for believing in the growth and development of our community.

McDonald’s long-time owner retires

Congratulations are in order for Wes Clerc, Fairmont McDonald’s long-time owner and operator who just retired after 43 years here! What a great career. Thank you, Wes, for being a great leader and a supporter of the Fairmont area all of these years. We wish you a happy retirement.

New group aims to grow workforce

Project 1590’s newest group is tackling workforce shortages. This group is made up of carefully selected people in our community who share a common goal of helping to support our businesses in finding and retaining employees. It sounds like the alumni database will be a beneficial tool in the future. Thanks for all the work that has gone into this so far and we’re looking forward to seeing what comes out of this group.
