FHS students cook up creations

Fairmont High School’s culinary arts program is a great opportunity for students who are interested in the food and service industry. Council debates topic of owner’s rep

City to launch Adopt-a-Drain program

The city of Fairmont is getting ready to start Adopt-a-Drain. The program, done through Hamline University, gets residents interested in helping keep waterways clean by clearing out nearby storm drains. This program is actually free for residents to participate in. More information should be out in the coming weeks.

GHEC goes over expansion details

This week the Granada Huntley-East-Chain School Board learned that its expansion project– which it failed to pass a $1.9 million referendum for– is actually closer to $5 million. The school also wants to add some advanced and vocational classes, but perhaps it would be wise for area schools to talk about partnering together and allowing students to take classes at other schools.
