Food aid to sharply decline

This month the amount of food assistance given to people will greatly decrease due to a federal program ending. This is something that will impact many of our neighbors in Martin County. In order to fill the need, food shelves like Heaven’s Table Food Shelf are seeking more donations in order to ensure they have stocked shelves. Please think of them and other food shelves as you’re giving charitable donations.

FEDA OKs incubator building proposal

This past week the Fairmont Economic Development Authority approved the sale of the incubator building to Kingdom Builders Masonry. FEDA put a Request for Proposal out for the building as it wasn’t being used as intended. The news of its sale is welcome and seems like it’s a win-win for all parties involved.

Kinship debuts Ambassador Program

Kinship of Martin County is working on rolling out a new Ambassador Program which will provide its mentees the opportunity to work with people from local businesses. The hope is that the program will help provide opportunities for young students while also giving the businesses exposure. This sounds like a great program to get off the ground. We look forward to seeing students and businesses working together.
