Vanasse brings art work home
Congratulations to Fairmont native, Sarah Vanasse Miles, whose art work is on display now at the Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont. Miles has lived an interesting life thus far traveling and working on her art. As a self-taught painter, she has had great success. We encourage the public to check out her work over the next month.
Senf receives region crown
Way to go, Solveig Senf! The Fairmont High School senior has nabbed the Minneosta State High School League’s Triple A Award for Region 2A. This is greatly deserved as Solveig is not only a great student and athlete, but a selfless young woman who volunteers her time to help other students, too. We wish Solveig all the best of luck in her future.
FHS grads travel to Vienna
Two Fairmont High School graduates recently went with the Luther College symphony orchestra to Vienna, Austria. What’s great about this is that these musicians, Eric Head and Ethan Grunewald, got their musical starts here in Fairmont and spoke highly of Fairmont Area Schools’ music program. It’s great to see our students go on to experience and achieve great things.
Lions gear up for annual convention
The Fairmont Lions Club will take part in their mid-winter convention this weekend and next week. The Lions Club does so much for not only our local community, but for other organizations that support worthy causes like vision, hearing and diabetes support. We’re fortunate to have a local Lions Club and active members in it.
