STEP celebrates 60 years
Congratulations to STEP Inc. on 60 years and thank you especially to Sue Eisenmenger and Linda Fett who have worked hard to ensure the non-profit’s success. Those at STEP have done a lot to improve the public’s perception of people with disabilities and we’re lucky to have such an organization in the community.
FHS unveils new leadership group
This year Fairmont High School is implementing a new leadership group called FLASH. This is a great idea to improve sportsmanship by students in the stands and on the fields. Hopefully what the students learn can be transferred to their parents, too. We look forward to seeing the outcomes of this new group.
CER ready for new season
CER’s fall and winter brochure should be hitting households this next week. CER has a lot of great offerings for everyone in the community, no matter your ability and interests. We’re especially excited for the new after school program, Key Quest. We hope everyone checks out what else CER has to offer.
Event focuses on farming practices
This past week, a Soil Health Field Day was held on a farm in Trimont. Thanks to AJ Krusemark and his family for allowing a tour of their farm and sharing about new methods to help improve soil, reduce erosion and reduce the use of pesticides. We’re eager to see how many farmers follow suit.
