Annual events make ‘normal’ return

You can’t deny that things are happening in Fairmont. Get out and enjoy the various opportunities around the community. You can find a list of events at fairmontareacalendar.com.

Involve city staff in planning

This week the Fairmont City Council considered a few event permits for upcoming events in downtown Fairmont. A discussion took place as the events require closing down roads leading to downtown and the various businesses. It’s great to see that events are happening that will bring people downtown, but as City Administrator Cathy Reynolds said, it would be wise to involve city staff in the planning stages. Hopefully lessons are learned in this case.
