Program honors students on other path
The Fairmont Women of Today and Poppe’s are recognizing seniors in the county who may be pursuing something different after high school graduation. We’d like to thank these groups for their effort to honor these students through the “gas for grads” program.
Boy Scouts partner with school for program
Boys Scouts of America-Twin Valley Council has partnered with Fairmont Elementary School to do some STEM programming. What a great partnership. It’s always nice to see different entities work together, especially for the betterment of our youth.
Prosper Project moves forward
The Prosper Project recently moved forward with a coordinator role filled by Welcome woman, Samantha Chukuske. The project, which is funded by The Schmeeckle Foundation, aims to address the childcare shortage in Martin County. This is a great investment by The Schmeeckle Foundation and has the potential to help not only child care providers but families as well.
50 years of Fairmont CER
In the month of April Fairmont Community Education and Recreation turned 50 years old. What a great program that has seen positive leadership and offerings over the years. We look forward to seeing what will be offered through CER in the next 50 years.
