Grant to help seniors age in place

Several local individuals set out on a mission to hep bring services into the homes of seniors in Martin County. Now with a sizable grant from the Schmeeckle Foundation, the Martin County CHW Project is moving forward. The group is looking for community health workers to train in order to help seniors stay in their homes longer. Thank you to those behind this great project and to the Schmeeckle Foundation for supporting it.

Robotics team earns high rank

Last weekend the Fairmont robotics team placed fourth out of 53 teams at a competition in Duluth. This is the highest the team has placed in any competitions over the last dozen years. Congratulations to members of the team for all of their hard work and thank you to the team mentors for investing in and working with the students.

MCW to present student-directed play

This weekend students at Martin County West High School are putting on a play at the Community Hall in Sherburn. This play is special as it’s being directed by senior Odessa Stade. What a great opportunity for Stade and a good use of facilities on the school’s part. We wish all cast members good luck!
