Pitching Clinic attracts many

Last weekend the Rick Pauly Pitching Clinic came to Fairmont. This professional fastpitch clinic has been coming to Fairmont for six years and is such a valuable event for young women interested in softball. Every year it sees a large draw from the region. Great work done by Cardinal Power to ensure it keeps coming back.

FEDA expands loan program

This week the FEDA Board heard that there’s still $200,000 left to give out to businesses affected by the pandemic. It took almost two years to give out $400,000 and with a deadline of July 2022 to give out the remaining balance, it is the right move to increase the max loan amount to $75,000.

Kinship aims to spread message

Kinship of Martin County, a local mentoring program, is celebrating National Mentoring Month this January with an increased focus on getting the message out that it’s in need of mentors. Kinship is such a valuable program that both parties benefit from, especially the kids. Please consider being a mentor.

Supreme Court halts vaccination rule

It was wise for the Supreme Court to halt the vaccine mandate for large U.S. businesses. However, the vaccine mandate still applies for thousands of healthcare workers. A person should have the right to decide what goes into their body.
