Local youth to perform in ‘Elf Jr.’

The Fairmont Opera House’s youth theater program is putting on a production this weekend– the first winter show the group has done. “Elf the Musical Jr.” will show tonight at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. What an awesome program and opportunity for our youth.

UHD purchases Dulcimer site

This week it was released that United Hospital District had purchased the Dulcimer site from doctors Steven Parnell and Jon Erickson. The purchase transferred ownership in late December. This was good planning by Parnell and Erickson to ensure that local healthcare options remain available to people in the area.

FHS selects Triple A winners

Fairmont High School has selected this year’s Triple A winners. Congratulations to stand-out seniors, Hudson Artz and Briana Joseph. The two were recognized for excelling in arts, athletics and academics. This is a great program that highlights students who go above and beyond.

Program helps educate families

A new 15-week family prevention program was recently completed at Fairmont Elementary School. The program was made possible by a partnership of several organizations including Faribault, Martin and Jackson drug court programs, and with the help of funding from several local sources. We hope this valuable program can continue in the future.
