Milk Depot

receives donation

The South Central Minnesota Breastmilk Depot, located in the Martin County Human Services building, recently received its first donation. Any milk donated to the depot is sent to the Minnesota Milk Bank in the Twin Cities, where a lot of it is given to babies in the NICU. This is a very valuable program and we’re lucky to have a depot right here in Fairmont.

Kamp for Kids benefits community

The Kamp for Kids red bag collection took place last weekend and an impressive 3,200 pounds of food donations, plus toys, was collected. This is a great partnership between the radio station, Photo Press and the Sentinel that benefits the local Salvation Army. It’s always great to see community support, especially around the holidays.

Elf Shop teaches spirit of giving

Fairmont Elementary School is gearing up for its annual Elf Shop. The event allows children to go through donated items and “shop” for gifts to give their family. This program is another great show of community support and helps teach our youngest community members that Christmas is as much about giving as receiving.

12Ks of Christmas run planned

On Sunday afternoon a 12Ks of Christmas run will take place in Fairmont. This new run was organized by Jen Kahler. What an innovative and fun idea that brings something new to the city. We hope the fun run has a good turnout in its first year.

Starting at $2.99/week.
