The city of Fairmont is in need of volunteers to serve on a host of boards and commissions. Some openings include Park Board, Planning Commission and Safety Council. Ordinance will improve city’s appearance

The Fairmont City Council recently adopted a vacant building ordinance which requires vacant buildings to be registered with the city. The city will then work with owners to come up with a property plan. This ordinance will hold owners accountable and gives them a year to make any repairs or prepare the building to be sold.
