This week Madelia Health opened the Truman Clinic. The clinic offers primary care five days a week. This is an excellent addition to the city of Truman. The clinic is Madelia Health’s third site. It’s great to see it invest in rural communities like Truman.

City looking to fill board positions

The city of Fairmont is in need of volunteers to serve on a host of boards and commissions. Some openings include Park Board, Planning Commission and Safety Council. This is an excellent opportunity for community members to step up and help guide the direction of the city. The deadline to apply is Dec. 27.

Ordinance will improve city’s appearance

The Fairmont City Council recently adopted a vacant building ordinance which requires vacant buildings to be registered with the city. The city will then work with owners to come up with a property plan. This ordinance will hold owners accountable and gives them a year to make any repairs or prepare the building to be sold. It was wise of the city to adopt this ordinance.
