Teacher of the Year named

Heather Stromberg was named the Fairmont School District’s Teacher of the Year by Education Minnesota Fairmont. Congratulations, Heather! This is a great program that recognizes the excellent educators we have.

Courthouse roof project

This week the Martin County Commissioners approved moving forward on additional costs required for the courthouse roof project. Extra costs are never fun to find out about but it’s an old building and historic at 116 years old. Now that the project is started we need to move forward with all necessary repairs.

Minnesota hospitals

get relief

This week the Department of Defense said it will send to two medical teams to Minnesota hospitals to relieve doctors and nurses swamped by a growing wave of Covid-19 patients. The solution to this is simple: get vaccinated, get the booster and practice Covid protocols. Locally we’re seeing an uptick, too, so now is the time to act.

5K to benefit Fairmont Christian School

Today there’s a Harvest Hustle 5K at Bethel Evangelical Free Church which s serving as a fundraiser for Fairmont Christian School, which is housed inside the church. This school is a great addition to our community education family and we’re happy to see that it’s growing.
