FACT presents comedy

The Fairmont Opera House is putting on a comedy, ‘Drinking Habits’, which shows tonight and Sunday. The cast is made up of local talent, many of whom have done several shows with the Opera House in the past. We thank the Opera House for continuing to put on shows for the community and for utilizing area talent.

FHS ground breaking

This week Fairmont High School broke ground on its new vocational center. This expansion will be a great addition for all area kids. Like Superintendent Andy Traetow, we’re glad the community has recognized the need to grow education and job-related experiences for students in the area and has supported this project. We’re happy to see the progress.

School focuses on STEM

At this week’s Fairmont School Board meeting, Tiffany Harris, a STEM teacher at the elementary school, shared about some of the work she’s doing with students. STEM is a great program that will help students receive a well-rounded education and we’re glad to see it become more of a focus in area schools.

Fairmont Area Life

Fairmont Area Life is a great collaboration to promote Fairmont. What a wise idea to target the Twin Cities area and show what a high quality of life can be found in Fairmont. Sara Pierce made a great point in saying it’s easy for locals to forget that Fairmont truly has a lot to offer.
